Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!  In 2008 we received our referral for Christian Kai, so this days holds an extra special place in our hearts.

Big brother!
We've been incredibly blessed to get so many pictures and updates of Mari Jinah.  Here are two that the foster mom sent on February 5:
Pursed lips!  So cute!
Still waking up a little, I think.
All of these extra goodies are thanks to the generosity of this wonderful family we've gotten to know recently; they are adopting the little boy who is also currently being cared for by Mari's foster mom. The big, big news is that this Saturday, they came over to our house so that we could participate in their weekly Skype session with the foster mom.  Which means we got to introduce ourselves to the foster mom and actually see Mari LIVE!  So unbelievable - even as I type this it still seems a bit surreal.  Here's a screencap:
!!!!!!!

(If you squint, you can sort of see me in the lower left-hand corner.  I'm the one on the very left.)

The only problem with seeing her live is that I so wanted to reach through the screen and bring her home!  I am feeling very impatient, even though we have a long road ahead.  But thanks to this amazing foster mom, I know that Mari Jinah is healthy and happy and that is such a wonderful feeling.

[P.S.  According to the foster mom, Mari weighs over 18 pounds (8.4 kg, to be exact)!  I'd better start lifting weights or I'll never be able to pick her up at this rate!]
