New blog design!

I thought it was time to update our blog design (translation: time to get someone with actual skills to do it, not me). Melissa had already given me a wonderful 'volunteer' blog makeover (blogover) before she joined Blogovers with Love, but I wanted to be official this time around.

Anyway, I picked out a digital kit and from that mystifying mess of backgrounds and elements she worked her magic on it - the result is a great new design! I absolutely love it, and encourage all of you to spend a few hours staring at the amazing hair slideshow. Thank you, Melissa!

Our donation (and others like it this month) will go to Half the Sky Foundation, a charity organization that benefits orphaned children in China. My sister-in-law's daughter, Micayla, was actually in a Half the Sky program so we are very glad to be able to contribute. Thank you!

A final note: we changed the name of the blog from "Journey to Baby Lehman!' to "The Lehman Family Blog". The reason is that our journey to Christian is coming to an end and our journey as a family of three will start soon. Well, that and the fact that Jeff vetoed "Jeff and Amy's Excellent Adventure" - maybe he didn't want our blog to be associated with Keanu Reeves? Whatever, dude!

We are excited, thrilled, impatient - pretty much any adjective you can think of right now, including 'terrified' and 'occasionally nauseated'. But most of all we feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude that God has placed this precious little boy in our lives. We can't wait to get him... as soon as we finish the baby room!

May updates have arrived (aka The HAIR!!)

In this month's update, Christian gives us a preview of his sullen teenage years:

"Yeah, my hair's even bigger. Wanna make somethin' of it?"

However, we do get some early smiles in the video, before he poops out and falls asleep. At first I was a bit unsure, but now I'm convinced that he's making a valiant attempt to snooze while the ladies are making an equally valiant (yet futile) attempt to get him to perform for the camera. This is probably going to be what happens when we sit him down for those 'serious' talks. :-)

He is just so cute! We can't wait to bring him home...

Surprise!

Our case manager contacted us with some good news: we received our civil ruling today! This came as a complete surprise because we hadn't heard anything about a court date, but we obviously won't complain! We are so thankful that our court hearing apparently went well and that we already have a first ruling.

The next step is the final ruling, and then Christian is officially ours! We're not exactly sure when this will happen, but our case manager is hoping that we'll travel in July. This is such amazing news and more than we were expecting.

We are so grateful for this unexpected development.
