Oh man...

So our travel plans are as follows:

  • June 4:  Fly from Columbus to Detroit (leave 5:27pm, arrive 6:38pm), spend the night at a hotel adjacent to the airport
  • June 5:  Fly from Detroit to Seoul (leave 12:15pm, arrive 3:10pm Monday)
  • June 8:  Visit KSS, see Mari and foster mom! (scheduled for 3pm)
  • June 10: Fly from Seoul to Detroit (leave 5:20pm, arrive 5:35pm Friday), then from Detroit to Columbus (leave 7:32pm, arrive 8:27pm)
Sounds pretty straightforward, right?  I mean, it's only 14 hours on a plane with a 3.5 year old boy and a toddler who has never met us before - what could possibly go wrong?  Right?  RIGHT??

And on top of that, our friends who are in Korea right now and around Mari quite a bit have nicknamed her "Drama Queen," and no, it's not because of her deep appreciation for the arts.  Not only is she super attached to the foster family and appears to have quite a bit of 'stranger danger,' she apparently is quite...er...high-spirited.  And strong-willed.  And tough.  Did I mention strong-willed?  She hates being changed, she hates her bath, and she's definitely not shy about it.

So, I'm taking a deep breath and trying to steel myself for the journey ahead.  I know it's going to be a rough transition for all of us.   Please pray for us and for little Mari.

Little Jin Ah, I know this won't be easy on  you.  In a few weeks, your world is going to be turned completely upside down.  However, I pray that we will soon see your beautiful smile after the tears. We love you!
